Liked the premise of this book but the heroine left me cold, could not identify with her at all. Written in the first person and present tense from Beatrice 'Tris' Prior's pov. Our heroine is a weedy blonde 16 year old from the equivalent of an 'Amish' background and we are supposed to believe that she becomes this badass freedom fighter in a matter of weeks, no, sorry! Lacks realism..'I walk into my room, and, and when I close my door behind me, I realize that the decision might be simple. It will require a great act of selflessness to choose Abnegation, or a great act of courage to choose Dauntless, and maybe just choosing one over the other will prove that I belong. Tomorrow, those two qualities will struggle within me, and only one can win.'
